Paleokastritsa's Beaches

Paleokastritsa has several beaches and inlets, ranging from rocky coves to sandy beaches. A brief description of the various beaches and their access is give below.

La Grotta
Opposite the main entrance to the Paleokastritsa Hotel there is a sign for La Grotto, down over 150 steps is a rocky cove that is ideal sunbathing, swimming and exploring rock pools. Taxi boats and boat hire is also available.

Agia Triada
This beach is a mixture of sand and pebbles. You will find sun beds and umbrellas for hire, water sports (paragliding, water ski, bananas, rings, pedaloes and canoes) and boat hire. On the beach you will also find a taverna and a snack bar. This beach has several access points. The first is at Poseidon Restaurant, take the steps down to the restaurant, at the bottom of the steps the path divides and gives access to the beach. Further on along the main road passed the entrance to Spiros Rooms or opposite the Greek Way there is another access point, a mixture of steps and path. Finally the last entrances are beside one another. You can either approach the beach through the Akron Bar or just after beside entrance to Akron Bar there is a small path. This is the least steep of all the access ways and takes you to the bottom end of the beach. Stay on the beach till dusk and see stunning sunsets over the harbour with Angelokastro in the background.

Agia Triada Beach

Platakia
At the entrance to the Dolphin Taverna, opposite the Odysseus Hotel, you will see a flight of steps. Follow the signs for the beach and you will come to a quiet, secluded pebbly beach.

Aleipa
If you continue to follow the road down to the Monastery you will come to a junction at the police station. Take the harbour road and you will come to Aleipa beach. This is a mixture of sand and pebble. Here you can find sun beds and umbrellas for hire. Boat hire is also available. One of the quieter beaches at the bottom of resort however it is the ideal place to sit to watch the boats coming and going from the harbour or people fishing from the rocks. Both the Aleipa and the Limani restaurants are close to this beach.

Aleipa Beach

Agios Spiridon
Commonly known as main beach, this beach is located beside the road at the bottom of the resort. A mixture of mainly sand with some pebbles it is very popular with day trippers. Umbrellas and sun beds are available for hire as well as pedaloes and canoes. The beach can get very busy high season. It is situated in a bay and is surrounded by a selection of bars and tavernas.

Agios Spiridon Beach

Agios Petros
This beach is located by the car park beside the road to the monastery. A mixture of sand and pebbles, this smallish beach has a good selection of water sports – paragliding, water ski, bananas and rings. Pedaloes, canoes, sun beds and umbrellas are also available for hire.

Ambelaki
Follow the small road just after the Apollon Hotel and you will come to Ambelaki Beach. In this secluded bay you will find a mainly pebble beach with some sand. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for rent and motor boats can also be hired.
